Purpose

The primary purpose of The Christian Alert Network (TCAN) is to inform individual Christian citizens on specific situations that adversely impact upon our basic Christian doctrine, religious freedom and traditional families and to encourage them to participate in the governmental process, in obedience to the Holy Scriptures and according to the intent of our Founding Fathers.

God

said in Eph. 6:11-12 ....

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against Spiritual wickedness in high places"

CHRISTIAN CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY

We also believe that every Christian citizen has a civic responsibility to participate in the governmental process and that history records an inexhaustible amount of evidence that our founding fathers fully intended that our governments; federal, state and local, be based on Christian principle.
Following is just a small sample of that evidence.

President George Washington; in his 1796 farewell address said ....  "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vein would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars. Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds; reason and experience, both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle."

The Honorable John Jay; original Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and one of the three men most responsible for the Constitution said: "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."

John Marshall, Supreme Court Justice (1833); "The American population is entirely Christian and with us, Christianity and Religion are identified. It would be strange, indeed, if with such a people, our institutions did not presuppose Christianity, and did not often refer to it, and exhibit relations with it. Legislation on the subject is admitted to require great delicacy, because freedom of conscience and respect for our religion both claim our most serious regard."

President John Adams; "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and a religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

President Thomas Jefferson; "Can the liberties of a nation be sure when we remove their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people, that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?

Benjamin Franklin; "He who shall introduce into public affairs the principles of primitive Christianity will change the face of the world."

Noah Webster; "The moral principles and precepts contained in the Scriptures ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws. All miseries and evils which men suffer from, vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery, and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible."

TCAN  DOCTRINAL  STATEMENT

We believe ....

1. In the verbal inspiration and authority of the Scriptures, that the Bible reveals God, the fall of man, the way to receive salvation, and God's plan and purpose in the past, present and in eternity.

2. In God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

3. In the deity, virgin birth, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.

4. That salvation is "by grace" -- plus nothing and minus nothing. The conditions to salvation are repentance and faith.

5. That people are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

6. In the everlasting, conscious reward for the saved and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost.

7. In the visible, personal, and pre-millennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

8. That the New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers who covenanted together to make disciples, baptize and teach them Christian principles.

10. In baptism by immersion of the believer in water, by the authority of the local church, to show the death and burial of the old life, and resurrection to walk in the new life of the Christian.

11. In the Special Creation of the existing space-time universe and all its basic systems and kinds of organisms in the six literal days of the creation.

12. In the full historicity and perspicuity of the Biblical record of primeval history, including the literal existence of Adam and Eve, as the progenitors of all people, the literal fall and resultant divine curse on the creation, the worldwide cataclysmic deluge, and the origin of nations and languages at the tower of Babel.

13. In the existence of an evil spirit and adversary of great power, called Satan, who acts as personal tempter and accuser. The place of eternal punishment was prepared for him. It is also the place where all who die outside of Christ shall be confined in conscious torment for eternity.

GENERAL

TCAN recognizes that, according to the Holy Scriptures, the local church must be the focal point for all Christian activity within a given community. TCAN does not actively seek the endorsement or participation of any local church per se, but only to communicate with the individual Christian citizens that make up the membership of that local church.

OBJECTIVES

1. To provide an effective and efficient system capable of quickly generating nationwide, individual Christian awareness of, and involvement in, specific situations.

2. To provide an effective and efficient system through which individual Christian citizens can be alerted to specific situations about which they should be concerned and, in most cases, to which they should respond.

3. To provide an effective and efficient system through which individual Christian citizens may respond and express their individual or collective opinions on specific situations and to coordinate their responses.

4. To provide a system of notification and response that allows even the smallest community of individual Christian citizens to join other small communities of Christian citizens and participate in specific situations.

CONCEPT OF OPERATION

The Christian Alert Network concept of operation is best described as "a chain reaction" where one individual passes information to at least two other individuals and each of those two, in turn, shares that information with at least two more individuals, etc., as indicated by our human pyramid logo.

An ALL VOLUNTEER STAFF of dedicated, born again Christians, monitor various activities, primarily United Nations Treaties, Conventions and Resolutions, and Federal, State and local legislation,  that adversely impact upon our basic Christian principles and religious freedoms as guaranteed by Holy Scriptures and the United States Constitution.

Activities that adversely impact upon those principles and freedoms are documented in the form of a TCAN Alert and transmitted, by whatever means available, to individual Christian citizens.

We strongly urge Christian Citizens to consider organizing local chapters of the Christian Alert Network for the purpose of educating and involving the local community in our efforts to protect and preserve our Christian heritage.

THE TCAN ALERT

The TCAN Alert will normally be an open letter to individual Christian citizens and will be formatted to present (1) a reasonable amount of background information relative to the subject matter, (2) the problem, (3) ramifications of the problem, (4) possible solutions to the problem and (5) recommended actions to be taken by the individual Christian citizen.

In most cases individual Christian citizens will be asked to respond to specific situations by making personal telephone calls to their duly elected government representatives and / or sending letters to those representatives or a combination of telephone calls and letters.

All TCAN Alerts that solicit a written response by individual Christian citizens, will contain a sample letter that can be used to respond to the Alert or used as a guide to assist the individual in creating his or her own version.

Normally each individual Christian citizen will be asked to make two copies of the sample letter; (1) sign and date the first copy, (2) address a # 10 legal size envelope as shown in the sample letter, (3) place the letter in the envelope, seal the envelope, place a first class stamp on the envelope and (4) mail the envelope containing the letter, according to instruction contained in the Alert. Depending on the situation it may be requested that the individual letters be mailed directly to the addressee or sent to TCAN for special handling.

The second copy of the letter can be used by the individual Christian citizen, as a master from which to make additional copies to share with friends and neighbors who may also have an interest in that particular situation.

TCAN FUNDING POLICY

Second: TCAN does not actively solicit love offerings from individuals, Churches, or other organizations.
